IndiaResidential care for children facing homelessness
The Warriors of Hope is a transformative initiative aimed at rescuing 32 socially disadvantaged children and young people aged 5 to 18 from the harsh realities of the streets of Mumbai.
Goal:
Enable 32 children to grow up in security with education and prospects, addressing their basic needs and ensuring a path to self-sufficiency.
Objectives:
- Safety: Get children off the streets and into safe, secure housing in a family-like environment.
- Essential support: Provide all residents with food, clothing, education and shelter.
- Education and training: Provide prospects for future independence through education and vocational training.
Description:
Almost a third of the population in India lives below the poverty line, and 30% of all young Indian children suffer from malnutrition. Although state assistance programs exist, those with no fixed abode are often left behind.
Founded in response to these alarming statistics, this project provides destitute children with essentials like food, clothing, and shelter. More than that, it also provides education and vocational training to participants to offer them hope for a brighter future.
